Our storefront & heritage
A quiet Route 66 landmark since 1978.

Upland German Delicatessen has stood on Foothill Boulevard for over 45 years — a compact, old-fashioned market and deli offering sandwiches, salads, and European baked goods to travelers and locals alike.
Step past our front window banner — famous for Bratwurst & Apple Strudel — and you'll find genuine Old-World recipes. Our sauerkraut is simmered slowly with bacon, caraway, and white wine. Our warm potato salad follows Swabian tradition — vinegar and broth, not mayonnaise. And our Linzer cookies and apple strudel are baked in-house daily.
"We believe great food connects people to their roots and memories. Whether you're craving the sausage your grandmother made or trying genuine schnitzel for the first time, you're always family at our counter."
